This year, to celebrate that special time near the end of the year we made a gingerbread house based upon Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye. This miniature replica of the definitive work of the international style is completely edible. It took lots of late nights, plenty of elbow grease, and more than a few eggs were broke in the process. We wish you a great 2012!
debug=The Villa Gingerbread was conceived of as an edible architectural model. The Maker Bakers made all the gingerbread and frosting from scratch. Plans, sections, and templates were printed at a scale of 1/4″ to 1′-0″. The gingerbread was rolled into sheets, baked and cut to measurement from templates. The piloti were created from candy canes. Some cookies were born out of the process as well.
