Page Turner

Page Turner was developed as a submission for Discovered, a silent auction to benefit the Central branch of the St. Louis Library.  The manipulation of this book was inspired by the traces we leave behind as readers when we interact with a text. The act of folding the corner of a page results in a “dog ear” that marks a breaking point in the narrative or a point of reference to be returned to time and again.  These remnants of the book’s history were used to guide a process of folding all the pages, transforming subtle traces into a three dimensional form.
